New international reporting services for hazardous substances
The IECEE has developed a new so-called IECEE Hazardous Substances Reporting Service. The idea is to offer industry, authorities and certification organizations a procedure for evaluating the percentage of hazardous substances of components and materials used in electrical products.

Mandatory PAHs testing for the GS – certification process
The new specification will be mandatory for all GS-Certification Bodies starting from 1st April 2008. Products which are already GS certified have to be tested on PAHs until 1st April 2009 to keep validity.

Foruden lokal EMC-test kan vi hjælpe kunderne med elsikkerhedstest og certificering. Adgang til det internationale certificeringssystem ”CB” er en udmærket motivering for en virksomhed, der ønsker at sælge sine produkter på mange forskellige markeder verden over.

Intertek ETL SEMKO and Natlabs cooperate in Finland
The ETL SEMKO division of Intertek Group plc (LSE: ITRK), a global leader in testing, inspection and certification, announces at the Electricity Telecom Lighting 2006 Fair in Jyväskylä, Finland, the signing of an agreement with Natlabs, a local testing and certification laboratory in Finland. Through the partnership Natlabs and Intertek ETL SEMKO jointly offer global services for manufacturers in Finland.

Intertek acquires AKZO Nobel’s Electro Magnetic Compatibility Business in Japan
Intertek, the global testing, inspection and certification company, announces the signing of an agreement to acquire the Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) business of AKZO Nobel in Japan for €13 million in cash. Completion of the acquisition is expected to take place on or before 22 February 2006.

Sex företag samverkar för ökad kännedom om S-märket
Sex ledande företag inom olika branscher startar tillsammans med Intertek ETL SEMKO ett samarbete för ökad synlighet av S-märket. Det är Electrolux Laundry Systems, Fagerhults Belysnings AB, Garo AB, IKEA, Sharp Electronics och OBH Nordica som tar stöd av S-märket i sin marknadsföring.

Intertek Group plc presenterar ny CEO
The Board of Intertek Group plc announces the appointment of Dr Wolfhart Hauser (54) as Chief Executive Officer of the Group, with effect from March 2005. Dr Hauser has been a non-executive director on the Intertek Board since October 2002 and has also worked as a consultant helping to develop the strategy of the business.

Intertek ETL SEMKO sluter SMTA-avtal med tyska Moellerkoncernen
Intertek ETL SEMKOs goda kunskap om Kina som marknad, de krav som ställs där och företagets globala nätverk var avgörande vid valet av samarbetspartner för tyska koncernen Moeller. Avtalet innebär att provning av produkter kommer att ske, i samarbete med Intertek ETL SEMKO, direkt i Moellers testlaboratorium, Institute for International Product Safety, i Bonn.

Kunden i fokus för Intertek Semkos nya VD
Michael Staufeldt har utsetts till ny VD på Intertek Semko AB. Michael efterträder Gösta Fredriksson som den 1 januari i år blev ordförande för IECEE´s certifieringskommitté. Att öka kundfokuseringen och följa kunderna i deras internationalisering är de första utmaningarna för företagets nye VD.

Intertek har tecknat SMTA-avtal med Louis Poulsen
Nu har Louis Poulsen Lighting A/S förenklat sina rutiner för elsäkerhetsprovning och elsäkerhetscertifiering. Genom ett SMTA-avtal med det branschledande testhuset Intertek, i vilket SEMKO numera ingår, kommer provning att ske direkt i Louis Poulsen Lighting A/S egna laboratorier, i stället för att produkterna som tidigare skickas till ett testhus. Genom den förenklade rutinen undviks dubbelarbete och Louis Poulsen Lighting A/S kommer att spara både tid och pengar.

Gösta Fredriksson utsedd till ordförande för IECEE
Gösta Fredriksson, VD för ETL SEMKO i Europa, Mellanöstern och Afrika tillträder från den 1 januari 2004 posten som ordförande för IECEE´s certifieringskommitté, som ansvarar för CB-systemet. Gösta Fredriksson kommer att arbeta som ordförande under en treårsperiod, tiden 2004 till 2006, med möjlighet till omval 2006. Gösta Fredriksson har tidigare varit IECEE CMC:s vice ordförande under två perioder.
